Peanut Butter and Chocolate Brownies

I first have to tell you that this is the recipe on the back of the Reese's Peanut Butter Chip bag.  I want to blog it so that even if I lose the bag, I can still remember the recipe. Be careful though, these have the perfect mix of peanut butter and chocolate and no one can eat just one!

This weekend we were blessed with Dave's parents in town and then unexpectedly a great friend of Dave's as well with his family.  We were thrilled to have dinner with such wonderful people and beautiful kids!

It was a gorgeous day in Houston so we grilled our carne asada and asparagus and then for dessert had these awesome brownies!

Here's what you'll need:

1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
3 eggs
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
10 oz. package reese's peanut butter chips
1/2 cup Hershey's chocolate syrup

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease 9x13 pan.

Beat butter and peanut butter together.

Add sugar and brown sugar, and beat well.

Add eggs, one at a time, beating well each time.

Add vanilla.

In separate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, and salt.

Mix flour mixture into peanut butter mixture.

Stir in peanut butter chips.

Spread half of batter into greased pan.

Then you're supposed to spoon in half a cup of chocolate syrup.  No part of me has ever been able to make food look pretty.  So, it tastes the same no matter how it looks, sooo.... I just dump a bunch of hershey's syrup in there and call it a day:)

Put the rest of the batter on top.

"swirl with a knife for marbled effect" - Mix it together until it tastes good... in my words!

Bake 35-40 minutees until lightly browned.

How cute are Ben and Laura?

And their kids?

and Dave and his mom?

We love having people over and this weekend was another great weekend with friends and family!

Enjoy!!
